CHAN 2022: Head to Head Statistics of Cameroon and Congo Encounters
The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon will be clashing with the Red Devils of Congo for the sixth time on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 8pm.
Before this match, both teams have met five times with Cameroon winnning twice, Congo winning once and both teams registering a draw game twice.
It all started off with a 2 – 0 victory for Cameroon on April 20, 1997.
On October 18, 2015, the Intermediate Lions met with the Red Devils again in a match that ended in a 0 – 0 draw at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium as part of qualification matches for the 2016 CHAN.
In the return leg on Ocotber 31, 2015, the Intermediate Lions humbled their Congolese counterparts in a 1 – 0 victory at the Stade Alphonse Massamba – Debat in Congo.
January 16, 2018 was another opportunity for both teams to lock horns in a crowd-pulling match of the 2018 CHAN in Agadir, Morocco. This time around, the Intermediate Lions bowed to the Red Devils in a 1 – 0 defeat.
The last meeting of the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon and the Red Devils of Congo was in a friendly match on February 20, 2020 as part of preparations for the 2020 CHAN. The match ended in an all-one tie.
With such challenging statistics, the Boys of Alioum Saidou must fasten their belts and focus on their match tomorrow Monday, 16, 2023 if they must easily sail through to the next stage of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
