CHAN 2022: Intermediate Lions Bow Out of Competition
It is a sad ending for the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon as they suffered a one-nil defeat from the Mena of Niger, eliminating them from the 2022 CHAN.
It took almost an hour for the Intermediate Lions to leave the dressing room this evening after the match.
Head Coach, Alioum Saidou in the post-match press conference highlights that he did not underestimate the team of Niger yet his team lost the match.
“I did not doubt my team at any time. Until the referee blows the final whistle, the match is not ended. I trusted my players until the end. That is why I still did changes towards the end,” Coach Alioum Saidou adds.
He however blames their defeat on poor finishing.
As for the Mena, it was full celebration as supporters who turned out in their numbers hailed their team.
In the post-match press conference, the Niger Coach, Harouna Doula highlighted his team’s tactical presence and organisation throughout the match.
