CHAN 2022: Lions Roar Louder than Red Devils in Opening Game
The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have secured three points this Monday January 16, 2023 at the on-going African Nations Championship (CHAN) after beating the Red Devils of Congo in a 1 – 0 win.
The lone goal scored by Jerome Ngom Mbekeli at the 62nd minute covered up for several scoring opportunities squandered by the Intermediate Lions.
The victory also came in to wipe off memories of exactly five years ago when the Intermediate Lions bowed to a 0 -1 defeat from the Red Devils during the Group stage at the 2018 CHAN in Agadir, Morocco.
Jerome Ngom’s header came in time to satisfy numerous fans across Oran, who came out to watch the Lions play. They were not disappointed.
In spite of the defeat, the Red Devils of Congo are optimistic about their game against the Mena of Niger come January 20, 2023.
As for the Intermediate Lions, their next match comes up on January 24, 2023 against the Mena of Niger.
