New Year Wishes to the Head of State Resumes this January 2023
The Diplomatic Corps and the National Constituted Corps will present their best wishes to the President of the Republic this Friday, January 6, 2023.
The annual ritual is also a moment for the Head of State to address the diplomatic corps had been suspended following the COVID19 pandemic.
The announcement of the 2023 New Year wishes ceremony at the Unity Palace is contained in a release signed by the Minister of State, Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Republic, Samuel Mvondo Ayollo.
If tradition is respected, the event will be marked by an address by the Dean of diplomatic corps followed by a speech by the President of the Republic at the diplomatic saloon of the Presidential palace.
The second part of the ceremony is void of speeches but marked by a communion between the President of the Republic and a cross section of the Republic invited to the event.
Specificities for 2023
The new year wishes ceremony will take place in the afternoon of Friday January 6, at 3:00 p.m. (Time limit for arrival at the Unity Palace: 2:00 p.m.).
COVID-19 test Results (Negative) less than 48 hours will be presented at the entrance.
There will be no handshake
Heads of the delegations will wish happy new year to the President of the Republic on behalf of each delegation. The other members will be lined up behind their head of delegation.
Men in uniform will just salute without speaking.

About 14 Delegations from the National Constituted corps are expected to take part in new year wishes ceremony at the Unity Palace including:
The President of the Senate and his bureau
The Speaker of the Assembly and bureau
The Prime Minister
Members of Government
The Chairman of the Economic and Social Council
The President of the Constitutional Council and its members
The Delegate General for National Security
The Delegate General for External Research (DGRE)
The Secretary General of the Central Committee cand members of the Political Bureau of the CPDM
Presidents of Opposition political parties
Some Economic Operators.
Senior officials of the Presidency of the Republic:
– The General Secretariat, up to the rank of Technical Advisor;
– The Civil Cabinet, up to the rank of Technical Advisor.
– The Grand Chancellery.
