Olembe Sports Complex: MAGIL Commits to Resume Construction
The International Vice President of MAGIL construction company, Franck Methiere has announced the resumption of works on the Olembe Sports Complex.
He made the announcement after a joint visit to the construction site carried out by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi and the International Vice President of MAGIL.
Both personalities moved from the VIP saloon of the stadium to the Hotel and Business Centre both attached to the main stadium structure.
Pillars some building materials and a few rooms yet uncompleted were present to the Minister and his delegation.
The project Coordinator explained that upon completion, the five star hotel in the Sports Complex will comprise 70 rooms and 10 suites.
The MAGIL boss added that the second phase of the project will consist of the Olympic swimming pool and infrastructure for indoor sports.
Speaking to the press after the visit, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi outlines the Head of State’s commitment to offer sports Complex to Cameroonians.
He regretted the suspension of Works on the structure after the AFCON competition despite the huge financial resources made available by the Government for the project.
The Minister used the occasion to congratulate sub contractors who have been playing a vital role in the project.
He however noted that government is will to assist MAGIL resolve problems that might impede the progress of the works.
MAGIL boss on his part said after several meetings within the week, both parties have come to an understanding of what is expected of them and his company of ready to resume work.
