CEMAC: Sub Regional integration at the Core of Discussions
Leaders of the six CEMAC member countries are in Cameroon for the 15th Ordinary Conference of Heads of State of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa.




The conference that holds at the Unity Palace this Friday March 17, 2023 is the first physical meeting of subregional leaders since the COVID19 pandemic.
Today’s meeting will Kickoff with statement of the President of the CEMAC Commission, Daniel Ona Ondo.
The host, President Paul Biya of Cameroon in his capacity as Chairman of the Conference of Heads of State, will deliver the opening speech.
President Biya’s speech is expected to highlight grounds covered since 2019 when he took over the leadership of the subregional body.
The Heads of State Conference will also feature the award of medals to some community personalities who have been outstanding in promoting the vision of the subregion.
According to the official program, Heads of State of the Sub Region are expected to have in camera proceedings.
Reports on the functioning of different CEMAC organs and institutions will be presented to the Heads of State.
Sometime around 2pm, the Heads of State will have a luncheon offered by Cameroon’s Presidential couple.
One of the high points of the 15th conference of Heads of State of CEMAC will be the handing over of the rotary Chairmanship of the Conference from President Paul Biya who has been on seat since 2019 to another President of the subregion.
The singing of the CEMAC athem will mark the start and end of the conference of Heads of State of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa.
