Cameroonian, Velveeta Viban Wins the Forty Under 40 Africa Awards

Cameroonian Humanitarian, Velveeta Viban is amongst winners of the Forty Under 40 Awards in the category of Philanthropy and Charity (women empowerment).

She is the first-ever winner from Cameroon and the only winner from Central Africa in this edition.

Velveeta Viban was awarded for championing women’s financial inclusion and providing support to over hundreds of women across Cameroon to start their businesses.

The talented lady has been able to do this through her organisation, I’m Human.

Velveeta’s organisation offered the women specialized training on digital skills and granted them access to capital to start up.

About FORTY Under 40 AFRICA Awards

The Forty Under 40 Africa Award aims at identifying, honouring and celebrating a cross-section of Africa’s most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age forty from various walks of life.

Those selected must be committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service.

They also should have risen up to the ranks of their companies or industries and communities at a relatively young age.

The awards took place on March 25, 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

From over 1300 nominations in different categories from across Africa, 126 were shortlisted and finally 40 awarded.

The categories included finance, architecture, community development, health and wellness, technology, media and journalism, social entrepreneurship, theatre arts and philanthropy.
