Yaoundé University Teaching Hospital: President Paul Biya Appoints Director General and Deputy

Ntone Enyime Félicien is the new Director General of the Yaoundé University Teaching Hospital, CHUY.

He was appointed Director General of the Health establishment by a decree of the President of Republic, Paul Biya, on Monday April 24, 2023.

Another Presidential decree signed on the same day appointed Prof. Omgbwa Eballe André as the Deputy Director General of the same health structure.

Both personalities are seasoned medical doctors who are expected to use their experience to bring a new impetus to the Hospital.

Dr. Ntone Enyime Félicien is a Psychiatrist. Before the appointment, he was the Deputy Director General of the Yaoundé University Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile fifty-two-year-old Prof. Omgbwa Eballe André is an ophthalmologist and associate professor at the faculty of medicine and pharmaceutical Sciences in the University of Douala.

Before his appointment, he was the Head of the Djoungolo District Hospital in Olembe where he has been working since 2019. Prior to this, he had earlier held the position of Deputy Director of the Biyem Assi District hospital in 2017. He has about 25 years of experience as a health expert.

The health establishment was created on October 28, 1965 by Presidential decree. Thousands of health care experts have been trained at the institution since then.
