Cameroon: Authorities Condemn Abduction of 30 Women
The Senior Divisional Officer of Mezam, in the North West Region, Simon Emile Mooh has strongly condemned the abduction of about 30 women in Big Babanki a locality in Tubah Sub-Division.
They are alleged to have been kidnapped by separatist fighters after the women protested against the payment of illegal taxes imposed on them by the militia men.
Simon Emile Mooh has described the kidnapping act as inhumane and has assured the population of the area that government is working on a security strategy to free the women.
The information is contained in a release signed by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam.
