Cameroon’s Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute has left Yaounde enroute to the United Kingdom to represent President Paul Biya at the coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms.
The Coronation Ceremony will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The royal event that comes more than 70 years after that of the previous monarch, will take place this Saturday, 6 May 2023, at Westminster Abbey in London.
King Charles will be coronated some eight months after he acceded to the throne on September 8, 2022, following the passing away of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The solemn ceremony will be attended by dignitaries from several countries around the globe including Cameroon.
Cameroon’s contingent of Defence Forces has also been invited to take part in the royal parded during the ceremony. The composed of eleven members from the National Gendarmerie, the Marine, the Airforce and the Army ahead of the coronation procession.
The during the once in a lifetime event, rooted in longstanding traditions, King Charles III will be crowned alongside The Queen Consort.
