Baccalaureate Exams begin in all regions 

The written phase of Baccalaureate General examination in the French subsystem of Education has begun in all 10 regions this Monday May 29, 2023.

The exam was hitchfree in most regions except for the Far North region where one candidate reportedly died in an accident.

The candidate and his twin brother were heading to the exam centre when the tragic incident lead to the death of one of them hours to the exam.

Candidates in the North West and South West also wrote the exams in calm and serenity. The regional delegate of Secondary Education in the North West region, Roland Ngwang says security will be stepped up to ensure all the exams unfolds without problems.

Garoua gets a new mayor

Forty-four year old GOURA BELADJI, is the new mayor of Garoua . The computer engineer, was elected at the end of an elective session chaired by the Senior Divisional Officer of Benoue, Oumarou Haman Wabi.

He replaces Dr Ousmaila Mohamadou, who died on the 29th of March 2023.

The new mayor has expressed joy and enthusiasm about this new assignment which he hopes to fulfill wholeheartedly.

Indigenes of Ndame Return home

After over a hundred years, indigenes of Ndame, a small island found some 8 nautical miles away from Limbe have begun returning to the land of their ancestors to reconnect with history and possibly resettle there.

In an emotional trip to their roots recently, the indigenes pledged to uphold their rich cultural values. The get-together saw locals compete in wrestling, sea diving, swimming and canoe sprinting.

Cyclists prepare for the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon

Some Cameroonian Cyclists to take part in the international cycling Tour of Cameroon have arrived Garoua, North Regional capital.

The athletes have been intensifying preparations to adapt to the environment before the event.

SNH Velo Club and the Cameroon Cycling Team with their trainers are upbeat about having a smooth competition.

129 athletes from the North to take part in the National FENASCO B Games 2023 in Douala

A total of 129 Athletes selected from the Four divisions of the North Region will be representing the region in the National FENASCO B Games 2023 in Douala from the 10th to the 16th of June.

During the closing of the regional games, the representative of Governor the North region, Inspector General, Alim Garga, urged the young athletes to do their best as they represent the region at the national level.
