Africa CEO Forum: Cameroon Lobbies for Win-Win Deals

Cameroon has been presented to foreign investors as a hub for gainful business opportunities in Africa.

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute accordingly, invited investors around the globe to place their bets on Cameroon and benefit from the huge incentives and countless opportunities the country offers.

He was speaking in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire this Tuesday June 6, 2023, during the Invest in Cameroon session organised at the Africa CEO Forum.

The Invest in Cameroon Panel at the Africa CEO Forum

The Invest in Cameroon session at the ongoing Africa CEO forum was an opportunity for government to attract business persons towards the lucrative opportunities and ventures Cameroon offers.

The session which lasted an hour and thirty minutes opened with a segment dubbed “Leaders’ Voices.”

Here, PM Dion Ngute responded to questions of investors and equally presented the economic orientation of Cameroon.

He said Cameroon has embarked on increasing industrialisation in her National Economic Strategy 2020-2030 which also focuses on import substitution to protect the economy from external shocks and open possibilities for private investments.

Dion Ngute, after the question and answer session, proceeded with a ten-minute presentation on the available areas and natural resources worth investing in and growth opportunities worth exploring in Cameroon.

Other panelists such as the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey even went deeper into attractive opportunities in Cameroon.

Other speakers at the Invest in Cameroon sesssion included the Director General of the Cameroon Investment Promotion Agency, Marthe Angeline Bijang, the head of the employers’ union GICAM, Célestin Tawamba and the Technical Adviser at the Ministry of the Economy.

They all took turns presenting projects that are awaiting investors in Cameroon and the good relationship the government shares with private investors.

After these presentations, a panel of private investors in Cameroon amongst which were SCB, Dangote Cement and PROMETAL went ahead to testify to other investors of the good relationship they have with the government and the illustrious deals they make in the country.
