Cycling Tour 2023: Fifth Lap Reaplaced by Exhibition Tour
Littoral Regional Governor, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua waved the flag marking the take of the fifth lap of the race but after a single round of the close circuit race Cyclists complained of unfavourable environmental factors.
The International Commission, Laurent Genettelli, ordered a suspension of the race based on the complaints and the President of Cameroon Cycling Federation proposed an new race course but after inspection, the officials concluded that heavy rains had made Cycling difficult.
The organising committee however organised an exhibition race which focused essential on preparing cyclists for the next lap.
The Governor once again gave another Kickoff for a four round close circuit race within the city of Douala.
The President of the Cycling Federation, Honore Yossi explained that points and stands on the General Classification table remains unchanged.
So far, Morocco Algeria and Cameroon are among the top four teams on the General Classification, though Cameroonian cyclists are yet to win the lap.
The next stage of the Cameroon International Cycling Tour is scheduled for Loum in the West Region to Dschang in the West Region on Friday June 9, 2023.
