#RoadToBal: Fap Basket to battle out for a ticket at the 2024 Basket Africa League
Fap Basketball Cameroon is amongst the « Super 16 » teams competing for just six spaces left to make twelve at the 2024 Africa Basketball League, the biggest Basketball tournament in the continent. The Army and Police Basketball team of Cameroon is in her fourth successive journey through the Elite 16 grab a prestigious ticket for the jamboree
Cameroon’s representative, Fap Basketball is in the West Division bearing eight clubs partitioned into four each and placed under groups A and B. Fap falls alongside Stade Malien from Mali, Al Ahly from Libya and RSB Virunga from the DR Congo. Group B shoulders Bangui Sporting Club of the CAR, host of West Division, and ABC from Cote D’Ivoire and SLAC from Guinea
The East Division hosted by South Africa has eight teams and will produced three best just like the West Division to make six, clubs that to join others Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, Rwanda , Angola and Nigeria at the 2024 Africa Basketball League.
Fap Basketball Cameroon was eliminated at the second round of the 2023 #Elite16 but in the other participations the Yaounde-based club reached the final phase of the Basketball Africa League.
Experts View on Fap Basketball
The former basketball league president for the centre region and consultant, Yves Tsala is upbeat Fap will make it out of the Africa Basketball League qualifiers and sail straight to the final phase of the 2024 tournament because they have experienced players who have played the #RoadToBal not once.
Fap and Al Ahly of Libya are favourites in Group A most especially with the absence of Stade Malien, one of the top performing team in the group and in the West Division. In 2023 the Malien club was the third best club at the 2023 Africa Basketball League
« Cameroon has a wealth of players go have stood out in local championships, Cedric Tsangue, Youcef Ouldy, Lialle Cyrille, and Arnold Kome makes a good force in internal zone and this makes the team has to work more on their external zone of play.
The competition in the West Division kicks off this Tuesday, October 31, 2023 and runs till November 5, during which the three best teams from the club will be known
Fap will kick-off the journey on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 against Virunga and will face off with Al Ahly on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. The third match is previewed against Stade Malien, a club that has already forfeited her time in the tournament
