The 24 teams taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 have begun engaging the third and last round of matches for the group stage.
The matches are considered crucial as they would determine which 16 teams that would take qualify for the knock out stage.
End of Round Two Games
The second round of group games for the competition ended with a total of 66 scored in the start of the tournament ; 39 goals were scored in the second round up from the 27 of the first round.

The highest number of goals scored in a single match is six scored in the encounter Equatorial Guinea against Guinea Bissau followed by the match Mauritania against Angola with five goals

At the close of the second round, two teams had already pickup their qualification tickets for the second round with six points each after winning their two group games.
They include Cape Verde and Title holders Senegal.

The match that ended with tha widest goal difference is that between South Africa and Namibia with ended in a 4 – 0 win for South Africa.

Equatorial Guinea’s Emilio Nsue is favourite in te race to take over the AFCON highest goal scorer Award in the AFCON. He also has three goals in two matches. The players in the race include :
