AFCON 2023: Ambiance hours to Kick

Title holders the Teranga Lions of Senegal currently in quest for a 2nd trophy clash this evening with Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, 5 times cup winners and 7 times finalists.

This Friday will be the major clash of Lions in group C, when the indomitable Lions of Cameroon take on the Teranga Lions of Senegal at the Charles Konan Banny stadium in Yamoussoukro at 6pm.

The clash has already begun on the social media with fans of each of the teams indicating the capacity of their team to carry the day.

So too has the declaration of the players and coaches of the two try teams during the pre-match press conference.

Cameroonian fans on the social media space has described the statements from the players as indicator of their readiness to win at all cost.

The desire to watch the derby is also very high following the announcement by CAF that ticketing problems have been solved.

The results of matches played in group A and B has also come as assurance to Cameroonians fans who share that if the teams that were pined down during round one matches could bounce back then the indomitable Lions have the capacity to do so.

The theory of danger of Coach Rigobert Song has once again gained it’s relevance as fans on Facebook and TikTok share that once the indomitable Lions are in danger like is the case now, they always raw best.

Just like fans, a huge media attention is being given to the Cameroon vs Senegal encounter. Journaliste from several countries even those whose teams are based in other cities have traveled to Yamoussoukro for the crucial encounter.

The Media men and women who covered the official training session and the pre match press conference of the lions, are of the opinion that the clash between Senegal and Cameroon is the most decisive game in group C.

Fans have also expressed mixed feelings: that of worry and hope after the CRTV Web announced the absence of Clinton Njie and Vincent Aboubakar in the game against Senegal.

The two strikers were not present in the first group game and didn’t take part in the last training session.

He told the players that each one of them wearing the national colours is Cameroon’s Ambassador and on his shoulder lies the reponsibilty of projections the image of the country through sports and precisely football.

Regarding innovations at this AFCON, the VAR in being used at the group stage, each team has its own training stadium and no team trains and the stadium reserved for matches.

One of the most remarkable innovations is the introduction of Cooling Break at each half of every match.

It last just about a minute or two and give time for players to drink water n freshen up before continuing the game.

The cooling Break generally comes between the 20th and 25th minutes of each half of a match.
