The Indomitable Lions who began the game timidly had to bounce back and become more aggressive upfront.
In the process, midfielder Franck Mario Magri got a yellow card for a hard tackle.
During the cool break, the Coach Rigobert Song gave some quick tips to the players who return to the pitch stronger and more defending. At the half time break, Cameroon was dominating the match with a 60% ball possession.
A Guinean attempt to trample on the lion resulted in a red card for the captain of the Syli National, François Kamano.
Lions eventually leveled score in the early minutes of the second half via a strike Franck Mario Magri.
All attempts to score a winning goal were in vain as the strikes were either off target or simply stopped by the Guinean goal keep.
The match ended with both sides sharing a point each. Both coaches saluted the performance of their players at the post match press conference.
Rigobert Song however regretted that his players didn’t follow the plan which entailed beginning the match with pressure and scoring early goals to take a confortable lead.
He promised some challenges in the performance of the team during their second match adding that the first match is always the most difficult.
