The National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism (NCPBM) has set the ball rolling for the year 2024.
The President of the Commission, Peter Mafany Musonge indicated this as he chaired the first bi-annual session of the NCPBM for the 2024 financial year this January 25, 2024 at the Yaounde Conference Centre.
Opening the session, Peter Mafany highlighted the fact that the Commission witnessed a drop in its draft budget for 2024, compared to that of 2023. In this regard, the draft budget of the Commission stands at the sum of 3,058,000,000 CFAF, with a 122,000,000 CFAF drop.

In spite of this situation, the President says the activities programmed in the 2024 action plan must be implemented.
Peter Mafany Musonge therefore used the conclave to call on his team to put all hands on deck so as to ensure they meet the aspirations of Cameroonians.
Amongst key points in the 2024 roadmap of the NCPBM is ensuring that regional offices which just became a reality, stay functional.
The Bilingualism Commission also has the herculean task of continuing with its fight against hate speech and xenophobia as well as promoting the effective use of English and French in Cameroon.
