The initiative follows a partnership agreement signed on November 3, 2026, between the Inter-Progress Foundation and the Cameroon Basketball Federation, FECABASKET.
Together, they will organise the YaFe Basket Tournament in line with International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3×3 standards.
The agreement was signed by Etienne Zumbach for the Inter-Progress Foundation and Samuel Nduku, President of FECABASKET.
The tournament is expected to add a new sporting dimension to the end-of-year festivities, which draw more than 20,000 visitors daily. According to the organisers, it will give basketball enthusiasts, amateurs and aspiring talents the chance to play in a family-friendly, festive atmosphere.
FECABASKET has opened registrations for participating teams. Details on registration requirements, categories and the competition calendar will be announced later.
Beyond basketball, this year’s YA-FE will feature a commercial fair, concerts for all generations, food stalls, electronic and traditional games, and amusement rides.
On pricing, a single-entry ticket costs 500 FCFA, and a multi-entry wristband costs 2,000 FCFA. Children under 12, accompanied by an adult, enter free.
By combining sports, entertainment and family activities, the 3×3 tournament is expected to broaden the festival’s appeal this festive season.
